The local government of Manila will buy 27,200 more tablet computers to ensure that all the city’s public school students will have gadgets to use for the upcoming blended learning system.

In his Facebook video message Friday night, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said they ordered more computers as the city only initially ordered about 110,000 tablets.  There are 275,000 students enrolled in Manila public schools this year.

“Because the number of our enrollees ballooned, we held a meeting again with our school board and decided to buy 27,200 more tablets. So, in total, the city will have acquired 137,200 tablets,” Domagoso said in Filipino.

He clarified that each household— not each student—will get a tablet to make sure that everyone is covered.

“Ang solusyon na ginawa ay bawat household o sa Tagalog, bawat

Microsoft Tries To Salvage Deal To Buy TikTok, Appease Trump

(Bloomberg) — Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday to salvage the company’s effort to buy TikTok’s operations in the U.S. and several other countries.

Talks to buy the music video app will move quickly “in a matter of weeks” and are expected to be completed no later than Sept. 15, Microsoft said in a statement. The company will continue to engage Trump and the U.S. government.

The purchase would result in Microsoft owning and operating TikTok in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Microsoft said it may invite other American investors to take minority stakes in the company, which is owned by one of China’s largest tech companies, ByteDance Ltd.

Microsoft pledged to add more security, privacy and digital safety protections and ensure that all private data of Americans be transferred back to the U.S. and deleted from servers outside

As students, their parents and teachers prepare for what will almost certainly be an unusual school year, there’s still a lot to consider and plan for amid all the uncertainty.

Most of us won’t soon forget the empty shelves and long lines at grocery stores at the beginning of the U.S. coronavirus outbreak in mid-March and how even reliable retailers such as Amazon and Walmart couldn’t keep up

Why Solid Peripherals Make the Stock a Buy

Logitech International SA (NASDAQ:LOGI) (SWX:LOGN) has had an excellent run even before the Covid-19 pandemic took place. Being a leading player in the global computer peripherals space, the company witnessed strong tailwinds in many of its segments with the increasing popularity of the work-from-home and learn-from-home trends.

The strong boost of gaming activity was another big plus point that helped the company show phenomenal growth in its top-line and margins in its most recent result. The management’s renewed guidance is stronger than before, and in my opinion, the company continues to be a lucrative investment to hold at current levels.

Company overview

Logitech is a Switzerland-based company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of personal computer accessories and mobile accessories for navigation, video communication and collaboration, smart home and other applications. It has a broad portfolio of products such as mice, keyboards, charging stands, tablet cases, car mounts for
